Puppy Schedule and Crate Training
Alder Creek puppies are very well socialized. We handle every puppy daily and raise them all around children, cats, horses and all the elements out on the ranch. They love the interaction and can't wait for you to come and play!
They are on a schedule from birth to the time of placement with their new families:
- From birth to approx. 3 weeks is bonding time with mom. We remove dewclaws, clip toe nails, take pictures and pamper mom.
- 4 weeks we start our first worming, introduction to puppy food, handling them individually, taking more pictures and still pampering mom.
- 5 weeks we give a parvo booster, another worming, and start introduction to all the outdoor elements depending on the weather. This is also the time we introduce the crate or kennel.
- 6 weeks this is when they receive their first series of the “puppy shot”. We continue crate training and socialization until the puppies are placed in their new approved homes. Mom of course, still requires pampering.
- 8 weeks they receive their second series of shots and can be scheduled to fly out of DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth airport) to their new homes depending on weather and flight requirements.
Every puppy purchased from Alder Creek Labradors will come home with a puppy starter kit which includes enough food for 2 days, AKC registration papers, complete pedigree, OFA & CERF information on that litter and vaccination and worming records, collar and toy of their choice. If paying by check, your registration papers will be held until funds clear.
Alder Creek puppies have a Veterinarian examination before going to their new homes. All puppies come with a written HEALTH, HIP & EYE GUARANTEE. In addition to regular vaccinations your puppy will need a rabies vaccination and need to be checked regularly for parasites which include worms, fleas, ticks and ear mites. All of our pets are kept on Revolution for heartworm, flea, and ear mite protection. They all are given a booster shot every 6 months and are wormed regularly. They get daily exercise via four wheeler, horses, chasing our son Keaton or playing in the pond.
We are active members of the Pro Plan Breeders Club and feed this for the best nutrition possible. We recommend Pro Plan Puppy or Puppy Chow for our puppies. If you desire to feed another brand I recommend mixing this with the Pro Plan so their system can get used to the change in diet.

Our puppies are sold on a limited registration unless other arrangements have been made with Alder Creek Labradors. This can be reversed if you decide to show your companion.
Delivery is available to Dallas and surrounding areas. Normally there is no additional charge. Visits to our ranch are recommended and can be scheduled by appointment only.
Shipping can be arranged out of DFW airport with the added cost of freight, shipping crate and health certificate. This service is limited to the airline restrictions. |
